Symphyotrichum shortii
Short’s Aster prefers part sun and moist to dry soil.  It has blue flowers in August and September on 2’ – 3’ tall stems.  Short’s Aster provides pollen and nectar for many species of bees & butterflies, and birds eat the seeds in the winter.  It’s a beautiful addition to the shade garden!
