Zizia aurea

Golden Alexanders prefer full to part sun, average to dry soil.  Yellow umbel-shaped flowers sit atop the plant from April-June to a height of 4’.  The flowers are attractive to many kinds of insects, including bees, wasps, and beetles, and the Black Swallowtail butterfly is especially fond of the foliage and flowers.
